Through WorkBC, Roberta learned about the WorkBC Assistive Technology Services program to help her thrive in her training and return to the workforce. “I have been shown that I can go beyond what I thought my limitations were with help.”
“The improvement is dramatic,” he explains. “I have stopped asking people to repeat themselves and stopped guessing at what they were saying.”
“Having the transfer seat/lift and wheelchair lift has also made my life so much more pain free. Getting in and out of the car is no longer something to avoid.”
Ginevra is an outreach worker. Her duties range from assisting clients in activities and preparing lunches, to gathering client information during the intake process. She says, “I have Recurrent Transverse Myelitis, which is a neurological condition in my spine that affects various peripheral nerves in my body.”
“It has helped my fluency and has given me more confidence interacting with the public,” Moore shares. “I am very grateful for the funding and for the device.”
