For Indigenous Disability Awareness Month, we wanted to highlight some of the work our Prairie Regional Office has done with Indigenous people with disabilities and communities in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba.
On Tuesday, we hosted another great Youth Making Change build event in Winnipeg, Manitoba with the help of our partners and sponsors, North Forge, Women in 3D Printing, and Red River College Polytechnic.
Melissa is an Indigenous woman, mother, and business owner from the Misipawistik Cree Nation, and she owns Onikaniw Consulting, where she teaches and talks about the intergenerational effects of colonization and the residential school system in relation to complex cycles of addiction and trauma.
