Season Learns the Right Tools to Help Expand Her Business

February 22, 2022

Season owns Sayzoons, an outdoor experiences tourism company that uses Indigenous and Métis land-based knowledge encouraging and facilitating outdoor learning experiences.

Digital Jumpstart Participant, SeasonDiagnosed with a comprehensive learning disability and ADHD, she previously developed carpal tunnel syndrome and received surgery for it. She also lives with osteoarthritis, and experiences symptoms of PTSD and depression.

She was referred to Neil Squire through her local Community Futures Triple R program, and joined Neil Squire’s Digital Jumpstart program.

Through Digital Jumpstart, Season received an ergonomic keyboard, sit-stand desk, and ergonomic mouse.

One of the main things she learned that will make a difference in her life and future work is how to organize her ideas and thoughts into PowerPoint, and how to save the presentation to elaborate on later.

During her time in the Digital Jumpstart program, she enjoyed the humbling realization that everyone struggles with systems and programs. She was happy to have someone to work through the formatting and style issues she was encountering with email, documents, and project proposals.

While she is still getting used to some of her assistive technology, she has immediately taken to her ergonomic mouse, and thinks it is a fantastic and great tool.

Season was happy to share that she submitted a PowerPoint draft presentation to an organization to show them how she would like to create a webinar and the organization loved it — the proposal may put her in a position to have a paid contract.

Season plans to continue mastering PowerPoint, take up other Microsoft apps, and create a marketing stream for Instagram.
