Makers Making Change Update: A Maker Story from Ontario

November 8, 2018

Colin Slade, a Cobourg, Ontario based maker, has been helping us with our work in a phenomenal way. He has been 3D printing low tech assistive devices (new window) from our open source projects library for people with disabilities in his community.

Colin is part of a group called the Northumberland Makers (new window), who have been working with community partners on a variety of assistive projects. “These things inspire people and, once they are inspired, they can do more,” he says in an article in Today’s Northumberland (new window)“Your limit is your imagination and a few technical challenges.”

We are in talks with Colin to host a LipSync buildathon sometime in the next few weeks. Stay tuned to learn more. Big thanks to Colin and his group for all their work!
