Makers Making Change Presents: Q&A on Device Design
September 29, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm PDT
Event Navigation

Join Makers Making Change for this exciting Q&A with Hedgehog Technologies, who recently completed an exciting device design for users – an IoT silent door alarm! We will also be joined by members of our NYC Chapter who will discuss the need for this device within their community.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes into the design process, where to find or how to start working on a MMC design challenge or if you are interested in the silent door alarm or variations of it – this is a great chance to learn from and ask questions to those involved in the project!
Every month, Makers Making Change will present exciting topics related to our program, so keep checking to see what is coming next! Makers Making Change is a project that connects people who could benefit from assistive devices with volunteer makers. Makers Making Change (MMC) is an innovative community-based initiative that connects makers to people with disabilities to create affordable open source assistive technologies. Makers Making Change utilizes emerging technology such as Arduino microcontrollers, 3D printing and laser cutting. The project integrates the culture and communities that surround the open source movement, the maker movement and the crowdsourcing movement.
