Neil Squire and Makers Making Change are excited to partner with New Brunswick’s Premier’s Council on Disabilities for a virtual event where participants will build adaptive switches in celebration of International Day for Persons with Disabilities! The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is annually observed on 3 December to promote the full and equal participation of persons with disabilities and to take action for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society and development.

Participants will be provided with tools and materials, and be instructed by MMC staff on how to build a Round Flexure Switch (additional information on this switch can be found in our projects library) virtually. Participants learn how to solder and assemble the assistive device which will then be donated to Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation and their Technology Access program. Makers Making Change would like to thank Open Sky Cooperative in Sackville New Brunswick for participating in this event.

Registration for participating in this build event is currently closed, but if you or your organization is interested in participating in a build, please get in touch at info@makersmakingchange.com (new window)!
