Calling all Youth Makers! Come Learn, Build and Make Change in your community.
In this workshop we’ll explore Assistive Technology by building an Assistive Switch using electronics, soldering and 3D printed parts. The best part is every switch we make will be donated to the community after we’re done.
According to Statistics Canada, 80% of people living with a disability use an assistive device to increase their independence, and 27% need at least one more. Cost is often cited as the main barrier.
Makers Making Change supports STEM education through an assistive technology lens. Our workshops encourage students to tackle real-world challenges as Maker Volunteers and to empathize with people with disabilities. Learn more here: Youth Making Change.
