CNIB(new window)(Canadian National Institute of the Blind) has launched a new program called Phone It Forward that gives people a unique opportunity to donate their old phones, receive a tax receipt and empower people who are blind in the process. All phones donated in New Brunswick will be given to individuals with sight loss living in this province.
Phone It Forward(new window) lets CNIB put an all-in-one communications and accessibility solutions into the hands of New Brunswickers with sight loss to help reduce barriers and drive independence. Through a partnership with Fixt Wireless Repair(new window), donated smartphones are wiped to the highest data security standards, loaded with accessible apps and provided to people with sight loss who need them, along with technical training and discounted maintenance.
How to Donate:
Donations are simple to make: a person or company registers their old smartphone(s) online at www.phoneitforward.ca(new window), gets a prepaid envelope, sends in their donation(s), and receives a tax receipt from CNIB. Envelopes are available at any CNIB office or by requesting one to be sent via mail. To request an envelope, click here(new window). CNIB’s New Brunswick offices are located in:
