#BCTECH Summit

The #BCTECH Summit is coming up May 14th – 16th. We will be part of two exciting events during the Summit:

#BCTECH Summit LipSync Buildathon with TELUS

BC Tech Summit LogoOur Makers Making Change (new window) team will be hosting this buildathon (sponsored by TELUS Days of Giving (new window)) on May 14th as a pre-Summit event. The LipSync is a mouth-controlled input device that allows persons with little or no hand movement to operate a touchscreen device.

Register for the buildathon on Eventbrite (new window), especially if you or someone you know could benefit from a LipSync. If you are interested in making, come as an individual or organize colleagues to spend the afternoon making LipSyncs. After that, meet and fit the recipient of the device.

TECH Talks: Inclusive and Accessible Workplaces Lead to Better Products

Neil Squire Society Executive Director Gary Birch will be a speaker on this TECH Talks panel. The group will talk about how diverse teams allow organizations to build meaningful experiences with the people they hope to benefit.

The other speakers are Jocelyn Maffin (Spinal Cord Injury BC), Naitik Mehta (Next Billion), and Nina Johal (Global Executive Talent Acquisition).
