“I now have a safe and reliable means of getting to work,” she shares. “This has removed a great deal of stress for me.”

Angela works as an insurance processor in Lantzville, just north of Nanaimo.

She has had cerebral palsy since birth, and uses a power wheelchair for mobility. Accessibility is a challenge Angela faces.

Through the Assistive Technology Services program, she received a wheelchair lift and securing system, which was installed in her van.

“Without this equipment, I had no way of getting to work as public transportation is not easily accessible in my area,” she explains.

“I am very grateful for the equipment I have received and the independence it has given me.”

WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
