Distance Learning Facilitator, Natalie Ducey recently attended the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn (new window) Annual Pow Wow. The theme of the 2010 Pow Wow was Protect Mother Earth.
“Mother Earth is our life line. She gives us everything we need: Air, Water, Food, Medicine, Trees, Plants, Insects, Animals and all the Wonders in the World. We need to be thankful and Protect all the Gifts that Mother Earth provides for us.”
Natalie attended this celebration to further develop awareness of the Algonquin culture, such as; language, drumming, dancing, singing, art, crafts, and food.
