On July 25th we teamed up with Electronic Arts Vancouver (EA)(new window) to hold an Accessible Gaming Switch Buildathon(new window) in Burnaby, BC. Over 150 EA employees volunteered their time to build assistive technology switches and buttons, soldering electronics to 3D printed pieces to make gaming more accessible to people with disabilities.
At the event, gamers with disabilities were pitched against EA gamemakers, with both participants using the adapted technology—putting all players on a level playing field.

The accessible gaming Buildathon was the largest of its kind that has been run in Canada.
A huge thank you to EA for partnering with us and helping to make this happen! Thank you also to all of the EA employees who took the time out of their busy day to volunteer.
