We recently heard from a participant who had joined our programs in 2019.
Dianne is a cheerful resident of Regina who works as a security guard. One of her hobbies is “making everyone smile and laugh”.
Dianne heard about Neil Squire from Manpower, a staffing solutions firm. She decided to join our Working Together program, which helps people with disabilities develop the skills they need to achieve their employment goals.

“My days felt a bit brighter and happier,” she says about going to Working Together.
Dianne also enrolled in a course to learn computer skills.
“I was taking a computer class to have confidence again in myself,” she explains.
As she learned more, Dianne wasn’t afraid of using her computer anymore. She says, “I’m trying new stuff on the computer and I’m not scared. [I’m] trying new things to do slide shows.”
Dianne’s dream was to write a novel. In 2021, this became a reality. After a lot of hard work spanning nine years, she published Blood Hood under the name Dianne Hicton Biaa. It’s a fictional romantic mystery set in North Central Regina.
Today, her book is available at Amazon and Coles. It’s also in a number of local Regina shops such as the Penny University bookstore, Min-Mart, and White Buffalo Woman on Dewdney.
She is already planning a sequel.
Dianne is continuing to learn more. She says, “[Neil Squire] changed my life. I try new stuff all the time and I’m still learning.”
Congratulations, Dianne! We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
